And with all the products available, we’re sure to find one to cure our woes, aren’t we? Maybe, but we’re not fixing the problem. If anything we’re making it worse by covering it up without getting to the root of the problem. Instead, take your skin concern, and look inside first. You’ve probably heard a lot about anti-wrinkle creams, and no doubt you’ve seen them line the shelves of every cosmetic store. Creams that boast they can “rewind the clock”, “fight aging” and “fill in wrinkles”. But do they actually work? And if so, how are they working?

The anti-aging branch of the cosmetic product market grosses millions of dollars a year. With the industry booming, more and more products are being created and marketed towards people trying to slow or prevent the natural aging process. However, the FDA has fairly lax standards when it comes to cosmetic products that boast anti-aging effects. Their concern lies in the safety of a product, not its effectiveness.
